Submit 2 Island Egypt to Saudi Arabia, Ikhwanul Muslimin Furious

Egyptian government finally handed over the island of Tiran and Sanafi to Saudi Arabia, the two islands is disputed island in the Red Sea ,. This decision was announced as the visit of King Saudi, Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud to Egypt.

The Egyptian government announced on Saturday (9/4) yesterday, the second island of the dispute is in the territorial waters of Saudi Arabia in accordance with the rules in the maritime border agreement signed by Egypt and Saudi Arabia the day before. Reported by Press TV on Monday (11/04/2016),


Egyptian opposition groups, the Muslim Brotherhood opposed the deal. They doubt the legitimacy of an agreement on these two strategic islands and insisted that the release authority over Egyptian territory would be unconstitutional.

Lies the island of Tiran is a strategic area for being a great sea to the port of Aqaba in Jordan and Eilat in Israel. Island is located at the entrance of the Straits of Tiran, which separates the Red Sea from the Gulf of Aqaba. The island was once occupied by Israel during the Suez Crisis in late 1956 years ago and also between 1967 to 1982 when the Six Day War or the Arab-Israeli War.

While the layout Sanafir Island is located east of Tiran Island, the island measures 33 square kilometers. In 1982 ownership of both the island was handed over to Egypt, when Israel and Egypt signed the Camp David peace agreement.
